The 2016 Argus User Group was another fantastically well-attended event with 100 delegates from 40 different organizations congregating in beautiful Barcelona. A wide range of Pharmacovigilance topics and areas of interest were presented and debated over the two half packed days moderated by Axel Hagel.

The event kicked off with a keynote address from Kostas Kidos from Baltaxa. The first morning continued with presentations on the Argus suite update and a fascinating insight into social media and PV. There was so much interest in both topics that the audience voted to add an unscheduled session into Thursday’s agenda for remaining Q&A! The afternoon continued with insight from GSK and Novartis with the day finishing with the first ‘Ask the Experts’ session co-chaired by Uwe Trinks and Axel Hagel, where questions that had submitted prior to the event were discussed and debated. Attendees then enjoyed some of Barcelona’s finest tapas whilst networking with fellow delegates.

The second day was started with an IMDP panel discussion, followed by a real-world case study from GSK of supporting an Argus installation. E2B R3, Argus Affiliate and OBIEE were all covered in the afternoon followed by the second ‘Ask the Experts’ session. The evening was spent at the amazing Casa Batllo, home of the Gaudi Museum, with superb tapas and classical Spanish music and dancing.

The final day started with a panel discussion around Reporting and Analytics and concluded with a further discussion on Data Privacy. Axel Hagel closed the 2016 Argus User Group with a teasing question around the location of the 2017 AUG Europe meeting. Whatever the location, it will be a challenge to better Barcelona 2016!
