The 7th bi-annual Argus User Group meeting was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Budapest, overlooking the Danube River and the historic Chain Bridge. The conference held March 8-10 was attended by over 80 professionals representing 40 companies. While most came from Europe, several guests from the United States and Japan were also in attendance.
Axel Hagel started off the Wednesday morning program by welcoming our guests to Budapest, followed by our keynote speaker, Michael Ibara, Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium, who shared his thoughts on the trends shaping pharmacovigilance and what they tell us about its future. Six additional sessions were packed into AUG day #1, which was topped off by a cocktail reception at our host hotel that extended into the early hours of Thursday morning.
Thursday morning kicked off with the “Ask the Experts” session where attendees were able to have their previously submitted questions answered by our panel of experts. It was clear there was excitement in the room as many follow-up questions were asked during the two hour session. The following sessions were split into two tracks were we could accommodate the several topic interests.
The day ended with an offsite dinner overlooking the famous New York City Café Budapest at the Boscolo Hotel. Some of the highlights included a champagne reception, buffet dinner and a post-dinner truffle making “experience.” Chocolatiers assisted our guests in designing and packaging their very own truffle candy, which they had the option to take home.
The last day of the conference concluded after three presentations and closing remarks by Axel Hagel, thanking all the presenters, panelists, and guests for attending another successful and intellectually stimulating Argus User Group!
Thank you again to all who traveled near and far to attend the 7th bi-annual meeting in Budapest! We could not make these meetings a success without your engagement, questions and input for future meetings. We look forward to seeing you all again soon at our next AUG. The “B” trend will continue in Boston in October 2017 but we will be beginning a new tradition in Amsterdam in 2018. Stay tuned for more information regarding AUG Amsterdam 2018!
