The 8th Argus User Group meeting kicked off on 18 October 2017 at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston. The conference was attended by 90+ attendees representing 50 companies. While most attendees came from the United States, several guests flew in from the UK and Japan.

The conference started on Wednesday evening with a cocktail reception at our host hotel, which featured heavy appetizers and great conversations. On Thursday morning, Axel Hagel started the program by welcoming our guests to Boston, followed by our keynote speaker, Dr. David Lewis, Novartis Global Drug Development, who shared his perspective on social media and pharmacovigilance from an industry perspective. The rest of the day was packed with six more presentations, covering topics including but not limited to, MedDRA Up-Versioning of Argus, Implementing E2B R3, and Case intake and automation.

Guests enjoyed a lovely dinner event on Thursday evening at Carrie Nation Restaurant & Cocktail Club, which included cocktail hour in a “speakeasy” where attendees were able to interact with a mixologist to create their own martini. Following the cocktail hour, guests sat in the main dining room for a sit-down dinner in an energetic atmosphere!

The last day of the conference included a full agenda including our popular “Ask the Experts” session followed by breakout sessions focused on small and large pharma companies. Throughout the conference, attendees commented on the exchange of great information and knowledge, abundance of networking opportunities, and their overall positive experience with the sessions, hotel and events that took place during Argus User Group.

Thank you again to everyone who attended. Without the audience participation and great networking, this meeting wouldn’t be what it is today. Stayed tuned for more information about the next Argus User Group being held in North America in 2018. Our next AUG will be held in March 2018 in Amsterdam.
